Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Nova PBX account to use Pulse?
Yes — Pulse is the mobile client for Nova PBX and Flare SMS. You need an active SIPSTACK subscription with Nova or Flare to use the app. Pulse does not work as a standalone VoIP application.
Is Pulse free?
Pulse is included with your SIPSTACK subscription at no extra charge. Download it from the App Store or Google Play and sign in with your existing Switchboard credentials.
Will callers see my personal mobile number?
No. Outbound calls from Pulse display your business Nova number, not your personal cell. Callers see and call back the same business number they always have.
Does Pulse work over cellular data or just Wi-Fi?
Both. Pulse works over Wi-Fi and LTE/5G cellular data. Call quality adapts automatically based on your connection. For best results, use Wi-Fi when available.
Can I use Pulse on multiple devices?
Yes. Sign in on your iPhone and iPad, or your Android phone and tablet — your calls and messages stay in sync across all devices connected to your account.
Does Pulse work with my existing call queue and ring groups?
Yes. Pulse inherits your Nova PBX configuration. Ring groups, call queues, auto-attendant routing, and DID assignment all work the same on Pulse as on your desk phone.
How do do-not-disturb and business hours work?
Pulse has a DND toggle and configurable business hours schedule. When DND is enabled or you're outside business hours, incoming calls follow your Nova PBX forwarding rules (voicemail, ring group fallback, etc.) instead of ringing your mobile.
