What is 10DLC and why do I need it?
10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) is a carrier-mandated system for business texting. US and Canadian carriers now require businesses to register their brand and messaging campaigns to prevent spam. Without 10DLC registration, your messages will be blocked or heavily throttled. Flare handles the entire registration process—we verify your business, submit campaigns to carriers, and maintain compliance so your messages always deliver.
Can I use my existing phone number?
Yes, you can port your existing local or toll-free number to Flare. The porting process typically takes 7–14 business days depending on carrier and number type. We coordinate with your current carrier and ensure zero downtime. You can also order new numbers instantly if you want to keep your existing number active.
What are message throughput limits?
Your sending speed is the lower of your plan’s speed (up to 1, 2 or 5 messages per second on Core, Pro and Ultra; 20+ on Enterprise) and the carrier’s limit for your number type. Toll-free numbers send up to 3 messages per second; Canadian local numbers just under 1 per second on every plan; US 10DLC speed depends on your brand’s carrier trust score, and we help you register and get vetted. How do opt-outs work?
Flare automatically handles opt-out keywords (STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE) as required by TCPA and Canadian anti-spam law (CASL). When a contact opts out, they're immediately added to the suppression list and won't receive future campaigns. You can manage opt-ins/opt-outs via the portal or API. All campaigns include automatic opt-out language.

Yes, Flare is designed for compliance with both TCPA (US) and CASL (Canada). We enforce consent requirements, automatic opt-out handling, and proper sender identification. We recommend getting legal review for promotional campaigns, but our platform provides the technical compliance infrastructure.
Can I use Flare for marketing campaigns?
