Zendesk

Inbound SMS becomes a ticket; call events update the timeline; SARA answers ticket questions.

What it does

Flare SMS that lands at your business number can auto-create a Zendesk ticket with the message body, sender, and a continuing two-way thread. Nova call events post to the requester's ticket timeline with recording links and IVR path.

SARA can look up a ticket status by ID or requester email through an external skill — useful in voice IVRs that want to defer "where is my ticket?" calls away from agents.

How it integrates

  • Flare inbound SMS webhook → Zendesk Tickets API (create ticket with sender as requester).
  • Nova CDR webhooks post to Zendesk via the Voice API as ticket comments.
  • Two-way SMS: outbound agent reply in Zendesk triggers a Flare API send via Zendesk Outbound Webhook.
  • Aura external skill calls Zendesk Search API with API-token auth.

Example use cases

Use case 1

Customer texts the support number → Zendesk ticket created automatically, agent replies from Zendesk and the customer sees an SMS reply.

Use case 2

Inbound voicemail transcript posted to the matched requester's ticket as a private note.

Use case 3

Voice IVR "press 2 to hear your ticket status" → SARA reads the latest update.

Use case 4

Slack alert when a Flare-sourced ticket is unassigned > 15 minutes.

Setup

  1. In Zendesk Admin Center → Apps and Integrations, generate a Zendesk API token.
  2. In Switchboard → Integrations → Zendesk, paste the subdomain + API token.
  3. Map your Flare numbers to Zendesk groups for ticket routing.
  4. Set up a Zendesk Outbound Webhook to POST agent replies back to Flare.
  5. Optional: enable the Zendesk Aura skill template for SARA ticket lookups.
