Google Workspace

Contacts sync for caller ID, Calendar-aware routing, and Gmail SMS threads.

What it does

Pull your shared Google Contacts directory into Nova so inbound caller ID surfaces the right name even for non-CRM contacts. Calendar busy/free signals can deflect calls to voicemail during meetings, and Flare SMS threads can land in Gmail as a unified inbox view.

How it integrates

  • Google People API for shared and personal contact sync (read-only).
  • Google Calendar Free/Busy API for "do-not-disturb during meetings" call routing.
  • Gmail API send/receive for SMS-as-email (Flare ↔ Gmail bridge).
  • OAuth 2.0 with service account or per-user delegation for domain-wide setup.

Example use cases

Use case 1

Inbound call → caller ID shows the Google Contact name (not just the number).

Use case 2

During a Calendar meeting, route calls straight to voicemail with a custom greeting.

Use case 3

Reply to a Flare SMS thread from Gmail (the SMS body lands in inbox; replies send out).

Use case 4

Sync the company directory automatically into Nova's phonebook for all users.

Setup

  1. In Google Workspace Admin Console, authorize the SIPSTACK OAuth client (domain-wide).
  2. In Switchboard → Integrations → Google Workspace, scope which APIs to enable.
  3. Map Nova users to Google email addresses for per-user calendar awareness.
  4. Optional: enable SMS-as-email — pick the Flare numbers that bridge to Gmail.
