My Phone

My phone is your personal corner of Switchboard. It is the one page an everyday user needs: the extension you answer, the identity your outbound calls carry, a do-not-disturb switch, and the QR code that signs the Pulse mobile app in to your extension without a password.

Navigate via the sidebar: My Workspace → My phone. Everything on it is self-service — you do not need an administrator to make these changes, and you cannot see or change anyone else’s extension from here.

The sidebar leaf appears only when your user account is paired with an enabled Nova extension. If you do not see My Workspace, ask your administrator to assign you an extension.

FieldWho sets it
Extension numberYour administrator. The short number colleagues dial to reach you directly.
Display nameYour administrator. Shown on internal calls and on your registered devices.
Caller ID name (CNAM)Your administrator. The name external recipients see when you call out.

All three are read-only here by design — caller ID is an account-wide identity concern (and, for external CNAM, a carrier-registered one), so it lives with the administrator on the Nova Extensions page rather than with each user.

A dash (—) in Caller ID name simply means no per-extension CNAM is set; outbound calls fall back to the organization’s default.

Turning Do not disturb on and saving sends every incoming call straight to your voicemail without ringing any of your devices — desk phone, softphone and Pulse alike. Your callers still reach your greeting and you still get the message; nothing rings.

It is a switch, not a schedule: it stays on until you turn it off. Turn it back off and save the moment you are ready for calls again.

Pulse is the SIPSTACK mobile app. You sign in to it by scanning a one-time QR code from this page — there is no password to type on the phone.

  1. Click Pair Pulse app. Switchboard generates a QR code and the matching pairing code beneath it.
  2. On your phone, open Pulse and go to Account → Pair with QR.
  3. Scan the code on screen.

The code is single-use and expires in 7 days. If it goes stale or you started the pairing on the wrong device, click Generate new for a fresh one — issuing a new code does not sign out a phone that is already paired.

Phones that are not Pulse — a desk handset, or a softphone on your computer — register with credentials instead of a QR code. Those live one leaf down, under My Workspace → Devices: username, password, SIP server, WebSocket URI, extension and display name, each with a copy button.

Your SIP password stays masked until you reveal it, and it deserves the same care as any other account credential — anyone holding it can register a phone and place calls billed to your account.
