Managing Music on Hold
Section titled “Managing Music on Hold”Music on Hold plays audio to callers when they are placed on hold, waiting in a queue, or being transferred. You can create custom playlists with your own audio files for a professional caller experience.
Supported Audio Formats
Section titled “Supported Audio Formats”Upload audio files in standard formats: MP3, WAV, OGG. Files are automatically converted to the format required by the PBX.
Creating a Music on Hold Playlist
Section titled “Creating a Music on Hold Playlist”- Log in to the Nova PBX portal.
- Navigate to Media Files → Music on Hold.
- Click Create Playlist (the green + button in the top-right action bar).
- Fill in:
- Name — identifier for this playlist
- Description — label to identify its purpose (e.g., “Support Queue Hold”, “Main IVR Hold”)
- Click Save to create the empty playlist.
- From the playlist list, click the Edit (pencil) icon next to the new playlist.
- At the bottom of the window, click Browse to upload audio files.
- Upload one or more files. You can add multiple tracks — they will play in sequence.
- Click Save, then click Apply to publish the change to your phone system.
Assigning a Playlist
Section titled “Assigning a Playlist”You can assign different playlists to different areas of the phone system:

|---|---|
| Call Queue | Edit the queue, pick the playlist under Your playlists in the hold music selector |
| Parking Lot | Edit the parking lot, pick the playlist in the hold music selector |
Anything left on Default plays the playlist you marked as default (or the built-in hold music if you have none).
