Can I Send or Receive SMS With a SIPSTACK Toll-Free Number?
Section titled “Can I Send or Receive SMS With a SIPSTACK Toll-Free Number?”Yes, with mobile numbers in Canada and the US, once the toll-free number is verified.
Since November 8, 2023, carriers in the US and Canada block text messages from toll-free numbers that are not verified. Until your number is verified, your texts will not be delivered.
What verification needs
Section titled “What verification needs”- Your business information (legal name, address, website, contact)
- What you will send, with sample messages
- Proof that recipients opted in to your texts
Review can take up to about 5 business days.
Contests and sweepstakes, gambling, cryptocurrency, loan offers and debt relief, and cannabis, alcohol or tobacco messages cannot be verified, so they cannot be sent from a toll-free number.
Other things to know
Section titled “Other things to know”- Standard messaging rates apply to texts you send and receive.
- Toll-free numbers from countries outside Canada and the US cannot send or receive text messages.
- A recipient who texts STOP to a toll-free number is also opted out by the carrier. See Opt-Out Keyword Handling for Toll-Free SMS.
