How to Manually Set a Speed Dial or BLF on a Polycom VVX

Speed Dials let you quickly dial frequently used numbers. BLF (Busy Lamp Field) keys display the real-time status (idle, busy, or ringing) of a monitored extension. This guide covers how to configure these keys manually through the phone’s web interface.

  • The phone and your computer must be on the same network.
  • You need the phone’s IP address. (Find it under Settings → Status → Network.)
  1. Open a web browser.
  2. Enter the phone’s IP address in the address bar (e.g., http://192.168.1.100).
  3. Press Enter.
  1. Enter your credentials when prompted.
  2. The default username is Polycom and the default password is 456.
  3. Click Login.

Step 3: Navigate to Line Key Configuration

From the top navigation bar, go to Utilities → Line Key Configuration.

Click Add Line Key Function.

Complete the following fields:

LineSIP line to associate with the key

Click Save at the bottom of the page.

Press the newly configured key on the phone to verify it dials correctly or shows the expected BLF status.
