How Do Trust Scores for A2P 10DLC Affect Message Throughput?

Section titled “What Is Message Throughput?”SMS message throughput is measured in Message Segments per Second (MPS). Each message segment consists of up to 160 GSM-7 encoded characters. A longer message or one using Unicode encoding will be split into multiple segments, each counting toward your throughput limit.
What Is a Trust Score?
Section titled “What Is a Trust Score?”The Campaign Registry (TCR) is the third-party organization that administers A2P 10DLC registration on behalf of US wireless carriers. After you register your brand, TCR assigns a Trust Score using a reputation algorithm that evaluates your business identity and registration data.
Trust Scores have three levels:

|---|---|
| High | Business is well-established with strong identity verification signals |
| Medium | Business meets basic requirements but with moderate identity confidence |
| Low | Business identity could not be fully verified |
Your Trust Score level, combined with your Campaign Type, determines the maximum MPS allotted to your campaign.
How Throughput Is Allocated
Section titled “How Throughput Is Allocated”The MPS limit applies across all long code numbers associated with your campaign and across all US wireless carriers. Whether you send through one number to one carrier, or spread messages across many numbers to multiple carriers, the same total MPS cap applies.
Appealing Your Trust Score
Section titled “Appealing Your Trust Score”If you are not satisfied with your Trust Score, you can submit an appeal to TCR for additional review. Key details:
- Fee: $40 USD, one-time, non-refundable
- Outcome: There is no guarantee the score will increase after additional review
- Process: Submit the appeal through TCR’s platform or contact SIPSTACK Support for assistance
