Configure Linksys SPA5005 Attendant Console Sidecar

Section titled “Configure Linksys SPA5005 Attendant Console Sidecar”

This guide explains how to set up the Linksys SPA5005 attendant console sidecar with Nova PBX for BLF monitoring and directed call pickup.

Verify that call pickup is working on the primary phone before configuring the sidecar. Nova PBX configures extension hints automatically — no additional PBX-side configuration is required beyond ensuring the base phone is working correctly.

Ensure the SPA phone is configured to allow feature code dialing (e.g., **1234). On the SPA525G, you must update the dialplan in the phone’s web interface to permit these patterns. A suitable dialplan pattern is:

(*xx.|**xx.|xx.)

This allows single-asterisk codes, double-asterisk codes, and standard number dialing.

The SPA5005 connects to the SPA phone via the phone’s Aux port. Once physically connected, configure the attendant console keys as follows.

Set the Attendant Console Call Pickup Code to **#, where # is replaced by the extension number at call time. This uses the Directed Call Pickup feature code.

Configure each unit key using the following format:

fnc=sd+cp+blf;sub=<extension>@<server>;nme=<extension>

Example:

fnc=sd+cp+blf;sub=1742@192.168.3.156;nme=1742
FieldDescription
fncFunctions: speed dial (sd), call pickup (cp), BLF (blf)
subSIP URI — extension and server IP
nmeDisplay label shown on the sidecar key
