Setting Up the Jabra 920 Wireless Headset with a Polycom VVX Using an EHS Cable

An EHS (Electronic Hook Switch) cable allows the Jabra 920 wireless headset to control call answering and ending directly from the headset, without touching the phone.

  • Jabra 920 wireless headset and base station
  • Polycom VVX series desk phone
  • Compatible EHS cable for Polycom
  1. Locate the EHS/Aux port on your Polycom VVX phone.
  2. Connect one end of the EHS cable to this port.
  3. Connect the other end to the EHS port on the Jabra 920 base station.
  1. Plug the base station into a power outlet.
  2. Verify the indicator lights turn on.

Place the Jabra 920 headset in the base station to charge it before first use.

  1. On the VVX, go to Settings → Preferences (or Audio).
  2. Find the Headset settings.
  3. Select Jabra as the headset type if the option is available.
  4. Enable EHS (Electronic Hook Switch) mode.
  1. Remove the headset from the base station.
  2. Press and hold the Pair button on the base station for 3 seconds until the LED flashes.
  3. Place the headset back on the base station to complete pairing.

Make a test call to confirm the headset answers and ends calls correctly. Adjust volume and microphone levels as needed.
