How to Register Your Business Under A2P 10DLC

Section titled “How to Register Your Business Under A2P 10DLC”

A2P 10DLC registration is a carrier requirement for any business sending application-generated or automated SMS to US recipients using 10-digit long code numbers. Registration is required — not optional — for US business messaging.

Registration is completed through The Campaign Registry (TCR), the central hub that manages A2P 10DLC brand and campaign records on behalf of US wireless carriers.

  • Direct brands: Businesses sending messages for their own products or services must register as a direct brand.
  • ISVs and resellers: Companies providing messaging services to other businesses must register as an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) and collect registration information for each client.

Two things must be registered with TCR:

  1. Brand — Identifies who your business is to carrier networks.
  2. Campaign — Identifies what type of messages you send (one Campaign per message use case).

Information Required for Brand Registration

Section titled “Information Required for Brand Registration”

  • Business name
  • Physical address (street, city, state/province/region, postal code, country)
  • Business identity (Direct Customer or ISV/Reseller/Partner)
  • Business type (Partnership, Corporation, Co-Operative, LLC, or Non-Profit) — sole proprietorships cannot be registered; the messaging registry stopped accepting them on 1 November 2022
  • Company status (Private or Public)
  • Stock ticker and exchange (if public)
  • Business registration number and type (DUNS or Business License)
  • Industry
  • Website URL
  • Regions of operation

Points of Contact:

Two authorized representatives, each with:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Title
  • Phone number
  • Job position (Director, VP, GM, General Counsel, CEO, or CFO)

Once your Brand is approved, TCR assigns a Trust Score (Low, Medium, or High) based on a reputation algorithm. Your Trust Score, combined with your Campaign type, determines your message throughput (messages per second).

After your Campaign is approved, add your 10-digit phone numbers to a Messaging Service in your SIPSTACK account to associate them with the registered Campaign.
